The fixed and movable pressure plates are clamped together by clamping bolts, forming flow channels. Process

The process flow of a plate heat exchanger is as follows: The cold and hot fluids enter the heat exchanger at either end and flow in parallel or countercurrent within the plate channels separated by sealing gaskets.

The fluids create intense turbulence within the narrow and complex channels between the plates, effectively disrupting the boundary layer and efficiently transferring heat from the high-temperature fluid to the low-temperature fluid through the metal plates. 

After the heat exchange is complete, the two media exit through the other outlet.
